Has Anyone Here Actually Seen Real Results From SEO in Bristol

Been meaning to put a post up about this for a little while so i thought now is as good a time as any! I run a small business locally and for the longest time i kinda just relied on word of mouth to bring in work. It was fine, but lately I noticed that loads of people go straight to Google when they need something, and if you are not showing up there you are basically invisible to them, well, at least that’s how it feels.
A mate of mine mentioned he’d been looking into seo bristol recently and he said it felt more helpful than he expected so i figured I should do some digging myself.
I got in touch with a local agency just to have a chat and get a feel for what it was all about! Honestly i wasn’t expecting much but the conversation was actually pretty eye opening. They kind of talked me through how Google picks which websites to show, and what kind of problems might be keeping a site back.
A lot of it went right over my head at first but they were patient, explaining things without making me feel totally clueless. I’m not going to lie though there was a part of me that wondered if it was all a bit overhyped, you know? But after hearing how it works in real life it started to click more.
I’m still figuring out if the timing is right for me on the budget side, but it’s definitely got me thinking.
Has anyone else here gone through something similar with their local business? I’m curious whether results came through quickly or if it’s more of a slow build over several months. I’d love to hear from people who have actually been through it rather than just guessing.
